Actions looked at over Owaka Pit material GEORGIA O’CONNORHARDING
The abatement notice on Owaka Holdings to remove all medium density fibre from a pit will expire tomorrow, with the city council considering this week what action it should take. It appears that material is still yet to be moved, with business manager Alan Edge saying he did not know the status of the levels still remaining. The pit, on Owaka Rd, has been a source of contention for years and issues came to a head in 2013 when the MDF sponta-

neously caught alight and took weeks to contain. The current abatement notice due to expire said the MDF had to be removed by April 13, 2016. A city council spokeswoman said staff are currently reviewing their regulatory options, options which could include enforcement action, and will make a decision this week. The city council report said as of March 31, 500.4 tonnes of MDF had been removed. But residents are unhappy with how the city council’s enforcement team has handled the

abatement notice. Resident Julie Shivas has criticised the city council calling the process “disgusting and expected it would most likely continue to stretch the abatement notice out. Awatea Residents’ Association chairman Peter Dellaca said
residents need to give the city council the opportunity to come up with some answers. But he said the abatement notice is not doing the job it was designed to do. In February, Riccarton-Wigram Community Board recommended to the city council the requirement will be changed to all MDF being removed from the site by April 2019. Board chairman Mike Mora said he expected the city council to give “clarity on the process this week. He said either a new abatement notice or “preferably an
enforcement order should be put in place. Community board deputy chairwoman Helen Broughton said she would not be opposed to the city council taking stronger action.

Concerns over location
LEARNING CENTRE MOVING The Ilam Learning Centre run by the UCSA will be moving to Canterbury University’s Dovedale site. The move of the playcentre is due to demolition of the UCSA’s building which was significantly damaged in the earthquakes. There are no plans soon for major construction. Ilam and Upper Riccarton Residents’ Association chairman Peter Harding said the beauty of the Dovedale site is the activity finishes at about 4pm and doesn’t start until 9am the next day.
Residents worry over anti-social behaviour if skate park goes in Halswell Domain GEORGIA O’CONNORHARDING
Issues are starting to emerge regarding the location of the Halswell skate park. Riccarton-Wigram Community Board chairman Mike Mora has revealed that the city council’s preferred location is Halswell Domain. But residents near the area have concerns regarding antisocial behaviour from users of the skate park should it be built there. “We haven’t had presented to us what exactly those concerns are but predominantly it’s antisocial,” he said. Back in February, a city council document revealed 15 locations had been considered for the new $379,000 Halswell Skate and Recreation Park. Mr Mora said the Riccarton-

Wigram Community Board will consider these issues but they don’t want to miss out on a skate park for the people in Halswell. “We are committed to having one – they have been asking for a long time,” he said. Mr Mora said some of the issues are more perceived than real. Halswell Resident’s Association Ron Fensom held a meeting with some of the clubs at the Halswell Domain about the possibility of a skate park being

installed on their grounds. He said the reaction has been good and so far users at the Halswell Domain have no objection. “There is no point putting a skate park in an isolated area . . . when it is isolated the disruptive element tends to hone in.” Mr Fensom said they got a response from about 50 per cent users of the domain including the football, tennis, netball, scout and engineers clubs. Remember the metre/heater rule MARK THOMAS – FIRE RISK MANAGEMENT OFFICER
A reader responds to the Western News article on the Halswell Residents’ Association call for a roading review around the suburb: Grant McFaull – I have lived in Halswell for 20 years, and drive Halswell Rd almost every day. I also drive Halswell Junction Rd and Awatea Rd many days. There is absolutely no need to downgrade the 60km/h speeds on these wide roads – this mindset of slowing down traffic needlessly creates driver frustration and increased travel times. When traffic is heavy, the
traffic flow is usually selfregulating anyway. And when traffic is light a sensible speed limit is best set to what the roadway is designed for. For an example Halswell Rd is fine at 60km/h and the 80km/h area also does not need to be lowered. The 30km/h suggestion is blatant stupidity from those who have probably never gone and driven at that speed on a roadway that is designed to have vehicles travel at sensible speeds. There isn’t an issue outside Halswell School – the speed limit is lower at school in and out times.
What people who call for lower speed limits fail to remember, or even consider, is that a blanket limit applies 24 hours a day. If there is an issue, it is only at certain times of the day and does not require an unreasonably slow limit at all other times when the average motorist will ignore a stupid speed limit, and travel at what they believe is a safe speed. One area where is a traffic problem is the intersection of Awatea and Springs Rd. This intersection probably needs lights or a roundabout would work too. But don’t lower speed limits.
With mornings getting colder and winter in the air, it might be a good time to remind people about the metre/heater rule. This is a simple little recommendation invented a few years back that gives us all a means of reducing the risk of fireplaces, heaters and even stoves setting fire to the houses they are in. The metre/heater rule requires nothing combustible being placed closer than a metre from an operating heater or fireplace. This includes clothing being dried, magazines and newspapers and most importantly human beings and pets. On the question of most efficient home heating we generally recommend heat pumps because of their relative low cost to run and more importantly, from our perspective, the fact
they have rarely caused houses to catch fire. This doesn’t mean we dismiss gas fires (those flued to the outside) or convection or radiant electric heaters. But these need to be operated strictly to the metre/heater rule above. Most people would have been aware of the young person injured after falling in the red danger zone of the cliffs at Sumner last Sunday morning. He ended up in ambulance and then hospital care. But spare a thought for the members of Sumner Fire Brigade and the ambulance staff who attended. They had to put themselves in potential danger to recover this person. They wouldn’t have thought twice. It’s what people do. Especially it’s what emergency services people do. But it should never have been necessary. Unfortunately common sense seems to be less common daily.

Many may face cold winter FRASER WALKER-PEARCE
New wards, boundaries and boards
People still stuck in insurance battles from the February 2011, earthquake say they cannot get upgrades to keep their homes warm this winter. The city council said about half of all customers of its Build Back Smarter programme, about 400, say they cannot act on recommendations to get their houses warmer because they are still negotiating with their insurer. The programme gives free housing assessment of what is needed to warm the house, including putting in heat pumps, curtains, insulation and draft stops. The city council’s sustainability adviser Tony Moore said during a customer feedback survey, it was found that the main reason given for not acting on the assessment was insurance battles. City councillor Glenn Livingstone (right) said he was appalled to find out half of people seeking help could be prevented from warming their homes. He said if a decision was still pending on their house, no
A new Representative Review was approved by the Local Government Commission last week seeing new ward boundaries and community boards around the city. The 16 wards will go from having two councillors to one in each ward from October following the local body elections. The Riccarton-Wigram Community Board has not sustained a substantial amount of changes. The Riccarton-Wigram ward will be known as the Riccarton, Hornby and Halswell ward. This will mean Riccarton, Hornby and Halswell will each have one councillor and two board members. Meanwhile there have been several changes made around the Burwood-Pegasus ward. The ward will now be known as the Coastal-Burwood ward will lose the boundary of the estuary – this will now be part of the Linwood-CentralHeathcote ward. WESTERN NEWS
Gabe Hawker
> Do you know someone who should be our next Our People? Nominate them now by emailing georgia.oconnor@starmedia.kiwi
Dedicated to empowering and Hornby resident Gabe Hawker has been involved with the Hope Presbyterian Church’s youth group for more than 10 years. He spoke to Georgia O’ConnorHarding about why he enjoys working with young people, the issues they are facing post-earthquake and what values he would like to pass onto them Tell me a bit about your role at Hope Youth? I am the director of Hope Youth which means I oversee the youth workers, the youth department, plan and lead and keep an eye on what is happening. I help direct and set a vision for the organisation. How did you get involved? I was a volunteer leader about 10 years ago and after a while I basically said to them I wanted to work there. I went off and studied a Bachelor of Ministry before I got an internship with them. What is the ultimate goal behind Hope Youth? The goal is supporting young people through their lives. We connect with them through their teenage years and hopefully when they have spent some time with us they leave feeling more empowered. You are also involved with the youth programme Hornby Emerge. What is it all about?
Emerge is one of our weekly programmes which has a strong emphasis on building a place where young people feel they have a sense of belonging. One week we get about 100 children come along and we sort of try and make them feel like they are special. They are predominantly Hornby children but we also have children from outline areas including Wigram, Upper Riccarton and Halswell. On the off week we have a bit more of an intentional focus because the second part of it is all about discipleship and offering them an opportunity to ask questions about their faith or life. In your opinion why do you think it is so important for young people to have faith and to believe in something? People don’t give enough credit for young people having their own opportunities to think. Young people are inquisitive and they seek answers. I think there are some answers they can’t

get from normal sources. From a Christian faith perspective it gives young people hope. When young people are sad and lost, they look for hope. You are also part of the 24/7 youth work programme for Hornby High School. Yes, 24/7 is a role that is a link between the church and the school. It is an organisation where youth workers go and serve the school’s needs. We ask schools what they need from us. For us it is a lot of one-onone mentoring and catching up with kids. We often talk through decisions they are making or difficult times they are going through. What would you say to young people who need support? What should they do? Get support. The good thing about Christchurch is there is a 24/7 network in every public school. And there are people who are willing to listen and help. Part of it is just talking to

supporting young people Where do you think the growing problem is coming from? I’m not sure. I think there is a flow-on effect from the earthquakes. Even though we weren’t as affected in Hornby, I think there is still trauma. The year 10s and 11s at Hornby High were at Branston Intermediate when it closed down as a result of the earthquakes. Dealing with the restructuring of schools and what not – there are still kids out there suffering from it and a bit of anxiety and fear. I think the earthquakes haven’t helped but social media is huge and I don’t think people realise how big of a role it plays in young people’s lives. What is your view on social media? I don’t have a problem with social media, I think it is the way it is used. I see a lot of positives and the connections that can be made through it. Young people can use it well – they can start a cause and get people behind them but I think there is a willingness to hide behind it as well. Rather than saying how you feel in person. Do you try to encourage young people to not be online too much?
HELPING THE YOUNGER COMMUNITY: Hornby High’s Rylu Dequota and Gabe Hawker hanging out at the school’s tabloid sports day.
We do. At our programmes we make sure cellphones are put away. There is more to life than what you see on a screen and you can have real relationships. What’s the coolest event you have put on for young people in your opinion? We put on a lot of cool things although the most recent and relevant thing in my mind was Easter Camp. We would get together with all our youth community in Christchurch and we had about 3000 to 4000 young people all together at Spencer Beach Holiday Park. Current
Proposed
That is one of the highlights for us. Some of the activities we have are helicopter rides and paintball. We also have open stage for musical people who want to perform. There is a good atmosphere getting them to work together. Do you often do special events for troubled youth? Easter Camp was for anyone. If we have got a relationship with them then they are welcome to come with us. We do put on more specific events for kids that are troubled or have been arrested. It is an opportu-
nity for them to learn new skills or get confidence. Last year we took some boys who were struggling with attention in class. Every Monday we took them rock climbing to develop some listening skills and to have more one-on-one time. We took year 7, 8 and 10 students and the older ones had to look after the younger ones to make sure they were safe and secure. What do you enjoy the most about working with young people? I love working with young
people because I get to see them at a time in their life where they are working out who they are and they are not really sure. Their parents or friends may have told them something and it is seeing them realise what they believe. We get them when they are young 12 to 13-year-olds and we get to journey with them and see them transition into adulthood. It’s a nice age group to work with because you can be quite honest with them and they are willing to listen to your ideas. Is there any advice you would give your teenage self and to young people today? The issues I had when I was younger in hindsight really weren’t that big. As soon as school finished I found it gets a heck of a lot easier. I don’t know what my advice would be, it would just be it is tough at the moment and school’s hard but it will get better. There are times when it is dark but it ultimately is a fun place to be if you make the most of it. Also helping other people. I think there is a bit of a tendency for young people to focus on themselves so it is my opinion to get them to start thinking about other people and being courteous.

India trip inspires students to help less-fortunate pupils

A trip to Kolkata, India has left St Thomas of Canterbury social enterprise students inspired to help make a difference in New Zealand and globally. Last week the school launched its learning platform Tribal, which was developed after the students travelled to Kolkata and saw some of the social injustices in the city. Over the summer St
Webb Ellis trophy at Hillmorton HONOURED: Hillmorton High School students Anaru Tahatika-Foliaki and Krystina Wade-Mauheni were lucky enough to get their hands on the Webb Ellis trophy. The New Zealand Rugby Union visited the school last week, showing students the prestigious cup.
Thomas social enterprise students Ben O’Connell, Tim Marshall and Hamish Simpson worked alongside the poor and marginalised in Kolkata as part of the Edmund Rice Indian Immersion Trip. The students were inspired to create five social justice stories, which was presented on Tribal. Now the year 12 and 13 students will be working alongside pupils from St James Primary School based in New Brighton to use Tribal to promote literacy. St Thomas of Canterbury principal personal assistant Elmarie Ells said Tribal will inspire and provide a tool to assist, to develop, and hone literacy skills in any educational context and global environment.
She said the students’ goal was to promote literacy, and part of that is a partnership with the St James pupils. The platform adjusts for different levels of reading complexity, from primary to high school aged readers. Together, the students are working to shape new stories initially in books, and later transferring them to the Tribal platform. From there, St Thomas students hope to reach an international community of learners.

Dr Woods said it felt like being part of a TV show where families and friends makeover someone’s house or garden without them knowing. “I wish I could have seen the kids’ faces when they turned up to school on Monday morning,” she said. Dr Woods praised the effort from Hope Youth and said they were a real asset to the community and understand the needs of the local area so well. Tayler, Endacott to speak at fundraiser for sick children
Rural life – getting down to business KATE PREECE
Sharing my life with a stubbywearing, gumboot thrashing, genuine country man, it was only natural we tune in to the new season of Rural New Zealand. The picturesque setting overlooking Banks Peninsula was a great backdrop to meet new presenter, Gordon Findlater, the man who promised to take us from Prebbleton to Geraldine and back. On the flat of South Canterbury, the educational value offered by Geraldine High School’s Primary Industry Academy was highlighted well. The enthusiasm of the next-generation of farming folk an encouraging sight to see. As Gordon (right) tried – and failed – to tie off a wire fence alongside the students, however, some dismissive noises came from the seat beside me. While the city slickers might find humour
in this part of the programme, Gordon will need to toughen up if he is going to earn any points with the farmers. The stories that followed provided snapshots of rural life, from up-and-coming entrepreneurs to those making a livelihood out of living off the land. By exploring the different aspects of what it means to live a rural lifestyle, viewers are shown the diversity offered beyond the city limits. In that respect, Rural New Zealand ticks a few boxes for us. “That’s the beauty of farming in New Zealand – it’s an open book, no one keeps their cards to their chest,” explains the accredited armchair critic. “Everyone wants to hear of people doing well for themselves as it’s a hard way of life.” Our favourite part of the show was the speed shearing com-
petition in Geraldine. In classic ‘country comes to town’ style, the sheep had centre stage in the Village Inn’s backyard, and the community were there to support the shearers and experience what is quite often too far from their own doorstep. As well as the pros, we heard from those beginning their quest for the sharpest shears, once again presenting the future of the vastly varied rural industry in good form. Farmers will appreciate seeing the successes of like-minded souls on Rural New Zealand, while concrete-bound viewers will be presented with tasters of the rural life. Short and snappy – more No 8 Wired than Country Calendar – the segments will keep young and old entertained. With the promise of the Mayfair Fair, the Hurunui Races and a lettuce farmer, we look forward to the second instalment, and seeing Gordon get those gumboots dirty. • Rural New Zealand Wednesdays, 8pm. Repeats Saturday at 7.30pm and Monday at 10.30am CTV Freeview Channel 40 Live stream or on demand at ctv.co.nz
Two of Canterbury’s leading sporting identities, Dick Tayler and Gary Endacott, will be the guest speakers at a charity event raising money for sick children. The Koru Care Long Sporting Lunch to be held at the Papanui Club on April 22. All proceeds from the lunch and auction will go towards sending 24 children with serious and often ongoing medical conditions on a trip to the USA later this year. Tayler won gold in the 10,000m at the Commonwealth Games in Christchurch in 1974. Tayler (below right) has had his fair share of highs and lows throughout his life going from being ranked No 1 in the world for the 10,000m to just 12 months later becoming bed ridden with arthritis, which prematurely ended his athletic career. Endacott was born with cerebral palsy and his parents were told he would never walk. Since then he has climbed Mt Kilimanjaro and ran four New York City marathons and his sporting achievements include winning the New Zealand and world disabled tennis titles. Auction items will include an All Blacks signed and framed 2015 Rugby World Cup jersey, a Kane Williamson jersey, a Vodafone Warriors package, a Crusaders package and one of only 35 T-shirts ever made for the 1995 World Cup All Blacks tourism squad. The ticket price includes a three-course lunch from chef Tony Smith and annual membership to the Papanui Club. Tickets are limited and cost $100 plus gst. Liquor manager judge in Community Energy Action in beer and cider awards Matthew Wilson, of Fendalton, was selected to help judge a wide range of beverages from 83 local and international breweries. The liquor manager for New World South City was appointed to the Associate Judge Panel for the 2016 New World Beer and Cider Awards. Mr Wilson had the chance to judge alongside New Zealand’s top beer and cider experts including beer writer and author Michael Donaldson, sensory analyst and hop expert Amy Paisley. “It was a total surprise to have been picked, I took the opportunity and ran with it,” Mr Wilson said. Mr Wilson has a “keen interest” in New Zealand’s craft beer business which has grown by 40 per cent in the past year. Prior to New World, Mr Wilson worked at Henry’s (local liquor outlet) where his interest in beer was sparked. Meanwhile, two breweries have won big at the 2016 New World Beer and Cider Awards. New World has announced the results of the awards after 458 different beers and ciders from 83 brewers across 13 categories were blind judged in a marathon two-
day process. Eagle Brewing Coalface Stout based in Riccarton was one out of 13 breweries awarded “Best in Class”. Chairman of the independant judges, beer writer and author Michael Donaldson said the “Best in Class” winners include beers that had set a benchmark in quality for nearly a decade. Wigram Brewing Co Mustang was also one out of 40 breweries awarded a gold medal. The large range of entries were judged alongside New Zealand’s top beer and cider experts along with a local liquor manager for South City New World. Mr Wilson said there was some good variation of beverages that were at a high standard. After growing up in the South Island, he said he “loves a fullbodied beer”.

A charitable trust that helps make Canterbury homes warm is a finalist in a national community award. Community Energy Action has been nominated in the community category of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority awards, which focuses on recognising organisations that go the extra mile in the field of energy efficiency. “I am really pleased that CEA has been nominated and recognised for what the organisation has achieved,” chief executive Caroline Shone said. Over the last two years the trust has been adapting to the changes in communities around Canterbury, which has resulted in assisting households to make them warmer, drier and more energy efficient. CEA operates a Curtain Bank which recycles donated curtains and a free independent Energy Advice Service. The trust also manages community projects in collaboration with other organisations such as the Repair Well Project together with New Zealand Red Cross, this project helps vulnerable homeowners with earthquakedamaged properties incorporate

World champs for kayak juniors July for the junior world championships. A small amount of funding has been provided by High Performance New Zealand, but the rest is up to the kayakers to provide. They are still yet to find out how much the cost could be. Duffy and Koekemoer were picked for the New Zealand under 18 mens’ canoe racing team, and Clark for the under-18

Ilam’s Ben Duffy is one of three Arawa Canoe Club members to have been selected to represent New Zealand at the upcoming junior world canoe racing championships. Duffy along with Papanui’s Shani Clark and Sumner’s Jake Koekemoer will be busy fund raising over the next few months to get themselves to Belarus in
women’s team. Both Duffy and Koekemoer are brand new to the New Zealand squad this year, while for Clark, this is her second world championships, after representing the country in last year’s under 18 women’s squad. Arawa Canoe Club coach Paul Fidow said he was proud of all three kayakers. “Shani was selected last year
to go to Portugal, after a big training camp in Hungary. But for Jake and Ben it’s their first world champs, and their second international tournament,” he said. Fidow said the athletes will travel to Slovenia before taking on the world championships. “They’ll be leaving for the world champs on July 6, and coming back in August . . . they will have a training camp
in Slovenia before the real competition kicks off later in July,” he said. The competition venue is a specially made regatta course just outside of Belarus’ capital, Minsk. This comes after the Arawa Canoe Club won the top club award at the National Sprint Kayaking Championships in February, and the Tyro Cup for juniors aged under-13.

Chiropractic care suitable for all ages Many people ask about who can see a chiropractor? My answer is always – anyone of any age. From babies following delivery to older people who are suffering from pain or discomfort, chiropractic care can alleviate stress within the body and ensure you are functioning at your optimum ability. Since starting work as a chiropractor more than 15 years ago, after studying in New Zealand to become a Doctor of Chiropractic, I have treated people of all ages with a broad range of symptoms with outstanding results.
There are a variety of reasons people come to see me including the following: Suffering discomfort or pain These symptoms are signs of dysfunction in your body. This is an important time to remove nerve interference and irritation to ensure your spine functions optimally and symptoms are alleviated. Accident or trauma Car or bike accidents and falls can cause severe spinal stress and subluxations If not attended to these can cause or contribute to health problems later in life. require care following delivery. Caring for a baby or infant can contribute to neck and/or back pain ie: position of mother during breast feeding and bending to pick up baby. I provide physical solutions including adjustments, stretches, exercises, and muscle therapy – to readjust the body or help it heal from conditions that are physical in origin. These can include problems such as back pain, muscle spasms, headaches and poor posture. What you may not know is that it is also completely appropriate to receive chiropractic care even though you may not have symptoms. Unlike standard medical doctors who you visit when you have symptoms that need to be treated, chiropractors offer adjustments to improve spinal alignment and overall wellbeing – and can prevent the pain or other symptoms even starting.
Pregnancy/Childbirth Infant caring TThe hormonal and physical changes in pregnancy create spinal stress. The birth process can be traumatic for both mother and baby, and both may

Hip pain: Do I have arthritis or
could it be mainly my muscles?
T
he team at Physical Sense in Sydenham sees clients with a range of symptoms but many of their middle-aged and senior clients visit complaining of pain in one or both hips. Physiotherapist Ietje van Stolk suggests that a major part of the pain could be due to muscle pain rather than simply arthritis. “Even if an x-ray shows arthritis, the reason for the pain may be the muscles around the joint,” she explains. Alternatively, a back muscle could also be the cause, as shown in the image. Ietje recalls one case where an 89 year old client with severe arthritis who walked with a stick, told her, “I will end up in a wheelchair, I cannot put any weight through my right leg due to pain in my hip and buttock”. “Within 4 treatments, she was walking with her stick but without the severe pain,” says Ietje. “The arthritis was one of the factors that made her muscles spasm but the other was that older people move less and the flexed position the hip is in when we sit is particularly bad for the hip.” Ietje is happy with the fact that although the client was 89 and could have been “given up on” or told to live with the pain, she made a difference to her health and wellbeing. At Physical Sense, hands-on techniques (massage and triggerpoint deactivation techniques) are used to release the muscles. The client also gets a home exercise program

designed to mobilize and stretch the hip, strengthen the important core muscles and increase general strength and balance. to stay on top of the problem. If severe arthritis is the underlying cause, some maintenance therapy may be necessary, but that is often more affordable and, for older patients, better tolerated than surgery. In very few treatments the client will know if it is going to work for them or not, without financial commitment. Physical Sense Gym & Physio is located at 300 Colombo Street, Sydenham. L
ove the ambience and charm of character homes, but could do without a time-consuming do-up job or sprawling gardens to control? The vendors of 130 Clyde Road have done the hard work of modernising this gracious property, creating an inviting and comfortable family home, so the lucky new owner can simply move in and enjoy. Offering three bedrooms plus a study, the home has an open-plan kitchen and dining area, in addition to a separate north-facing living room with a gorgeous bay window that invites you to curl up with a good book! Outside, the low-maintenance yet private garden features a sunny terrace and BBQ area for entertaining, and established, easy-care plantings. Secure double garaging also adds to the convenience. The two bathrooms in the home have both been recently updated, but there is still room for the new owner to add their own touches – the kitchen, while practical and very tidy, could be enhanced to add further value. Conveniently situated close to amenities such as supermarket, shops and schooling, 130 Clyde Rd is zoned for Christchurch Boys’ and Girls’ High Schools, Burnside High School, Cobham Intermediate and Fendalton Primary. All EQC repairs are complete, and the land offers the reassurance of TC2 rating. The vendor has committed to downsizing, so this home is very definitely for sale. VOLUNTEERS
AWARD WINNING country music artist, Craig Adams is touring to promote his latest recording, 'Yesterdays Today'. Originally from the west coast of the North Island and currently based in the South Island, Craig carved his track in music via the country music awards circuit plus pubs, clubs, rodeos, and festivals. In May 2015 he claimed Male Vocalist of the Year at the Texas Sounds International Country Music Festival. Following on from his debut album, 'Country High', the new album is said to be packed with nostalgia and vintage.
"We're pretty sure this may take some of you back," said Craig. "It's those great songs that have so many memories of people, situations and places from days gone by." Accompanied by his musical director Peter Kesha and a fine band of musicians - The Rustlers, Craig's album release show promises to be a high energy performance. Craig Adams and the Rustlers play the Hornby Workingmen's Club on Saturday 16th April. Show starts at 8pm. Tickets just $20 on sale now at the club office 17 Carmen Rd, ph 349 9026.
